Mission
Turning an idea into a successful product is the dream of many. Assessing its value, its market, and the proponent’s ability to pursue it and manage the resulting company, and supporting — with real expertise and a service mindset — the many challenges that precede a company’s growth: this is BIC Incubatori FVG’s mission.
Why BIC
BIC is the certified incubator where business ideas are developed: from the initial proof of concept to assessing entrepreneurial capacity, through to management and structural growth. Active since 1989 and an EBN — European Business Innovation Centres Network — certified member from the start, BIC is listed in the special section of the Business Register as a certified incubator for innovative startups (Italian Law 221/2012), and has supported over 260 companies through their growth journey.
It’s an integrated system of services, an environment conducive to entrepreneurship for activating expertise, support, ideas and contributions — a tool for those who believe in technologically advanced companies and the innovations of the years ahead.
Faster time to launch and full operational capacity
Support on crucial operational matters: raising private and public capital, strategic choices, partner relations
Easier market contacts and a stronger image toward clients and external investors
Access to third-party services on favourable terms, as a certified incubator under Law 221/12
Minimised fixed costs and minimum investment threshold
All of this is made possible by the presence, within the incubator, of financial partners dedicated to early-stage investment, by close collaboration with the local scientific community — the University of Trieste, SISSA, Area Science Park, the Synchrotron, OGS — and by the international EBN network, which brings together over 150 certified incubators across Europe. BIC is open to aspiring entrepreneurs with an idea to validate, as well as established entrepreneurs looking to develop new products or corporate spin-offs.
Datacenter
In 2026 BIC Incubatori FVG renewed the campus network infrastructure together with Huawei and certified partner Gruppo Euris, building an ISP-grade architecture that gives each of the 36 settled companies full autonomy over its own IT operations. Each company's traffic is isolated through dedicated virtual networks (VXLAN), distributed across multiple labs with no need for new passive cabling.
